Hibiscus is to study the impact of tropical dynamical, microphysical and chemical processes on the stratosphere at global scale: convective, radiative and wave induced vertical transport , sub-tropical barrier , dehydration mechanism, radiative and chemical impact of sub-visible cirrus, fast transport and transformation of short lived species from biomass burning , polluted areas or thunderstorms, and finally the understanding and validation of satellite remote sensing products in tropical areas. The project makes uses of a variety of instruments borne by small balloons as well as of long duration launched from Brazil and travelling around the world, as well as meteorological, convection, large scale transport, radiative, microphysical, transport and photochemical modelling .
