Objective Complementary facilities at the national synchrotron radiation (SR) sources in the UK and Italy will be used for novel phasing of protein crystallographic data. Efforts will be combined to develop a charge coupled device (CCD) detector for time resolved and micro-sized protein crystal studies with SR. Our programmes of protein crystal crystal structure research of the national SR facilities and on the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, France will be stimulated.
