Biofouling resistant infrastructure for measuring, observing and monitoring

Cel

The BRIMOM proposal aims to create a new component of research infrastructure to solve a priority problem in marine measuring, observing and monitoring research programmes. The problem is poor quality data from instruments due to biofouling of the instruments. The objectives of BRIMOM are to develop biofouling resisting technologies and apply these to oceanograpic instruments and demonstrate the effectiveness. The objectives will be achieved with instrument trials, development and evaluation of biofouling resisting strategies and commercial assessment. The major outcomes will be a set of recommendations/guidelines for research infrastructure for in-water marine measurements.
