The Ancient Georgian translations of the early christian homiletics: non-liturgical homilies of Gregory Nazianzen

Objective

To establish the critical text of the Georgian translations of Gregory Nazianzen's non-liturgical homilies on the basis of all known Georgian manuscripts .
To compare the texts of the Georgian translations with their original sources ; to determine the relationship with the Greek original and other Oriental Christian translations .
To determine the place of the ancient Georgian translations in the history of the Greek original text , and to analyse their value for the establishment of the Greek text.
To reveal the peculiarities of each translation's milieu (Tao-Klarjeti, Mount Athos, Black Mountain, Gelati).
To establish Greek-Georgian and Georgian-Greek dictionaries of the analysed texts .
On the basis of this material (points 4 and 5 above), to reveal the role of the Georgian translations in the development of the Georgian theological terminology and, in general, in the development of the Georgian language .
To reveal the influence of these ancient translations on the development of Georgian literature and their role as a fundament of the Georgian cultural identity.
