Low dimensional strongly correlated electron and spin systems

Objective

The research project is aimed into the theoretical study of the infrared behaviour of low dimensional strongly correlated electron and spin systems. The investigations are motivated by new low dimensional structures fabricated recently. The proposed studies will use various modern theoretical methods, e.g. Abelian and non-Abelian bosonization, conformal field theory, 2+1 dimensional QED, exact diagonalization as well as other numerical methods. In the framework of the project several studies will be performed, including studies of generalized spin ladder models, frustrated spin ladders, stripe phases In Cuprates, few-chain electron models with Bond-Charge Interactions and studies of any on matter and anyonic superconductivity.

The joint research will include already successfully collaborating groups working in low-dimensional condensed matter physics and field theory.
