Objective Despite the progress made during the last years, predictions of rolling force and width evolution during cold rolling remain a major concern for the mill set- up due to the numerous interfering factors. The main objectives of this proposal is to develop a prediction model for width deviation with online measurements and an intelligent adaptation system for force set-up based on back-calculation of flow curves. This system will also be able to follow-up the hot rolling mill consistency and the cold rolling process deviations.
