Objective High strength steels based on structural strengthening have gained an increased interest in the automotive industry due to their improved strength-ductility balance and their unique work hardening characteristics. The aim of this project is improve the knowledge about the microstructural evolution during each step of the continuous annealing/galvanising cycle and to build several sub-models, which describe these microstructural evolutions. The final mechanical properties and their correlation to the microstructure will result in the determination of the optimal cooling path and over-ageing treatment for each steel composition. Furthermore, the final model will be transferable and will be a useful tool for product development of cold rolled high strength steels.
