Objective Work to be undertaken in this research project is to investigate the ejection of liquid droplets from gas-stirred melts as a function of metal and slag properties, of gas injection methods, gas flow rates and surface-active additives. The aim is to acquire sufficient knowledge to control the ejections caused by bubble bursting with respect to quantity and size range of droplets and then to find the optimum process parameters for high productivity, low accretion rate and low dust losses.
