Cel This research project will attempt to solve the problems associated with adhesive bonding of stainless steel to stainless steel and SS to carbon steels with the aim of extending their range of practical applications. The project will investigate the problems involved with the particular surface properties and different classes of adhesive, design and realise examples of adhesive bonded components with the help of mathematical modelling, and then simulate in-service conditions including ageing effects and corrosion problems to verify reliability.
