Objective Accurate control of certain processing lines in the steel industry demands the use of sensors all along the line so that the control variables can be determined and corrected if necessary. This project aims to develop new magnetic sensors that allow determination of the a-fore mentioned parameters in order to improve the control and quality of annealing and tempering processes. The signals provided by the sensors will be analysed on-line to control the process. They will also allow obtaining information that will be stored and/or monitored by means of real-time micro-processor-based systems that will constitute an appendage to the installation of the sensors.
