Ziel

Several wollastonite deposits located in three areas of Europe; Spain, Greece and Sweden, have been studied and technologically and economically evaluated. To this end it has been necessary to develop different methodologies and the broad know-how needed for the prospection and beneficiation of the mineral of these deposits, as well as for its use in certain products in the ceramics sector.
A consortium of industrial partners and research organization have combined to develop exploration and industrial technology with the aim to evolve a rapid exploitation of recently discovery high quality wollastonite deposits in Europe . The group have as targets significant mineralization in Spain,Sweden and Greece; each mineralization will be examined by specific industrial partners,who will feed raw material samples to the research centres for laboratory processing,bonification test and finally pilot plant studies. The results will be utilized by industrial partners in a search for new applications and the development of the new products and markets.

The project is divided into the following carefully integrated four phases:

1. Pre-field work analysis of existing material.

2. Field investigations.

3. Laboratory work.

4. Evaluation phase.

Pilot plant test will determine which mineralization are actual ores, and pre-feasibility studies and be carried out for economic viability.

The results of the project will be utilized in an aggressive marketing campaign to bring European wollastonite to the EC market,thereby eliminating EC dependence upon imported material.
