Implementation of sustainable agriculture and rural development in alpine mountains

Objectif

The aim of IMALP is to develop tools and methods to implement local projects targeting sustainable agriculture and rural development. Methods and tools will be elaborated and demonstrated on four voluntary pilot regions. For this a comprehensive and consistent set of actions, at the farm, the collective farmers' organisation and local level (partnerships between farmers and society) will be demonstrated and evaluated. The proposal organised into a combined research and demonstration project will:
1 - analyse and demonstrate the dynamic processes of four local territories implementing a set of innovative actions in favour of sustainable agriculture and rural development;
2 - assess the conditions for success or failure of implementation of such actions;%3- Establish the conditions of general applicability of such experiments and infer concrete policy recommendations.
