Observation and analysis of precipitated phases

Ziel

The aim of the research is to study the distribution of certain elements between the different phases in steels (solid solution, precipitates, inclusions). This knowledge is of value in controlling the mechanical properties of steels as well as in production and rolling. The elements to be studied will be Al, B, Mn, Nb, Si, S, Ti and V. Finally, automated procedures will be developed to provide quick and accurate information on the distribution of these elements.
