Obiettivo Objectives and problems to be solved :To extend combustion of biomass waste in high-efficiency FB boilers instead of land filling. This objective serves strongly also the candidate countries. Sub-objectives are:a) to create basis to replace fossil fuel partly by biomass in large Polish CFB plantsb) to strengthen basis to deliver small FB boilers for difficult agricultural waste to Eastern European countries,c) to find ways to burn demanding biomass waste as household waste and meat and bone meal (MBM) together with traditional fuels without operational problems obeying the emission limits of the new directived) to improve prediction potential for operational problems and modelling tools for emissions of toxic elementse) to improve an on-line analyser to a sensor of corrosive flue gases, f) to reduce formation of fine fly ash by chemicals, and hereby emissions of toxic elements bound in small particles. Description of the work: The work carried out by two boilers manufacturers one power company, manufacturers of analysers and chemicals, well-known research centre and well known universities in combustion research includes four main research areas:1. To strengthen markedly the basis to replace a part of fossil fuel with biomass in Polish CFB plants. This component includes selection of Polish biomasses, combustion testing and optimisation, and emission reduction with 50 kW CFB, study on feeding properties and finally a feasibility study. Advanced analytics will be used to fly ash and flue gas characterization.2. To enable safe combustion of demanding and risky biomass waste: meat and bone meal (MBM) and household waste safely together with coal and wood in modern FB plants. This component includes combustion tests with BFB and CFB reactors of 0.02 0.1 2, 4 MW and full scale tests, determination and solution of operational and emission problems. Advanced analytics will be used to fly ash, flue gas and deposit characterisation.3. A study assisting a boiler manufacturer to improve fuel flexibility in small biomass fired FB boilers for Eastern European markets. This study includes pilot- and full scale testing, advanced analysis, modelling and probing tools.4. Developing tools assisting in minimising operational problems and emissions in FB boilers: A real time sensor will be developed to detect corrosion risk from flue gas composition. Development includes planning construction, laboratory tests and tests from pilot-reactors. Modelling and simulation tools for toxic element distribution and particulate formation will be improved Expected Results and Exploitation Plans:- Suggestion to biomass for a feedstock for large fossil fuel fired Eastern European FB plants - Means to burn household waste and MBM with high share in effective FB's - More flexible small FB boilers to Eastern European markets - Better means to obey the existing emission limits - Monitoring system to prevent fluidised bed (FB) boiler damages - Better prediction and modelling tools for toxic metal release at FB conditions - Guidelines to burn the studied fuels Campo scientifico engineering and technologyenvironmental engineeringenergy and fuelsfossil energycoalengineering and technologyelectrical engineering, electronic engineering, information engineeringelectrical engineeringpower engineeringelectric power generationcombined heat and powerengineering and technologyelectrical engineering, electronic engineering, information engineeringelectronic engineeringsensorsagricultural sciencesagricultural biotechnologybiomassnatural sciencescomputer and information sciencessoftwaresoftware applicationssimulation software Programma(i) FP5-EESD - Programme for research, technological development and demonstration on "Energy, environment and sustainable development, 1998-2002" Argomento(i) 1.1.4.-5. - Key action Cleaner Energy Systems, including Renewable Energies Invito a presentare proposte Data not available Meccanismo di finanziamento CSC - Cost-sharing contracts Coordinatore TECHNICAL RESEARCH CENTRE OF FINLAND Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Koivurannantie, 1 1603 JYVAESKYLAE Finlandia Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato Partecipanti (9) Classifica in ordine alfabetico Classifica per Contributo UE Espandi tutto Riduci tutto CRONE WK BV Paesi Bassi Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo 1e Tochtweg, 39 2910 AB NIEUWERKERK,YSSEL Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato DEKATI MEASUREMENTS OY Finlandia Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Osuusmyllynkatu 13 33700 TAMPERE Mostra sulla mappa Collegamenti Sito web Opens in new window Costo totale Nessun dato DELFT UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY Paesi Bassi Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Mekelweg 2 2629 CD DELFT Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato EMISSIONS- REDUZIERUNGS- CONCEPTE GMBH Germania Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Oststrasse 67a 22809 NORDERSTEDT Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato ENERGIEVERSORGUNG OFFENBACH AG Germania Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Andre Strasse, 71 63037 OFFENBACH Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato KVAERNER POWER OY Finlandia Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Kelloportinkatu, 1 D 33101 TAMPERE Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato KVAERNER PULPING OY Finlandia Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Kelloprotinkatu 1D 33101 TAMPERE Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato UNIVERSITAET STUTTGART Germania Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Pfaffenwaldring 23 70569 STUTTGART Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato WROCLAW UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY Polonia Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Wybrzeze st.
