Polish welding centre of excellence

This proposal aims to set up a polish centre of excellence in welding and joining of engineering materials. There is a need for such an organisation that offers this expertise in Poland to support industry. In order to achieve this goal, institute Spawalnictwa will set up formal links with two technical universities in Poland, and two western European research and development organisations, in order to initiate long term research projects of benefit to polish industries. Institute staff will attend training and certification programmes in the UK and France, which will enable them to set up their own educational courses for polish industry. With combination with a series of technology transfer initiatives, this programme will have a long term beneficial effect in Poland.
