Objective Conventional automation with the aid of rolling models allows the pre-adjustment of cold- rolling mills. In the case of continuous rolling, the transfer from one rolling schedule to another poses problems where the format is changed. The aim of the proposed research is to develop an optimum method for carrying out format changes, without stopping, on a tandem cold-rolling mill used for continuous rolling, by developing: - an algorithm for calculating the self-adjusting rolling schedule for each loop; - a mill simulation model; - an application for a cold-rolling mill.
