Objective The aim of the work is to establish an up-to-date method for the dimensioning of steel sections embedded in concrete. The approach will permit, in particular, the optimisation of the length of the embedded part of the beam needed for full bending moment capacity. The research will be carried out in collaboration with the University of Karlsruhe.
