Objective In the new developed alloys with arcicular martensite, a good combination of strength and toughness has been achieved through appropriate tempering conditions. The aim of the research is to improve the toughness at maximum strength levels. This can be achieved by avoiding intermetallic laves-phases and carbonitrides at the grain boundaries and also by grain refinement.
