Spin, charge and orbital ordering in complex transition metal oxides: an integrated synthesis and measurement approach

Objectif

There are three distinct aspects to the training offered by the network
(i) research-based, involving the training of young scientists in at least three host laboratories to expose them to state-of-the-art work in both physics and chemistry and allow them to work at the physics-chemistry interface in their future careers
(ii) workshop-based, at three summer schools designed to provide a multidisciplinary tutorial approach to three important questions crossing the physics-chemistry boundary in this area
(iii) transferable skills arising from observing and participating in the construction of transnational and transdisciplinary teams to solve the problems identified in the four objective areas.

The RTN will attract high-quality young scientists by clearly offering internationally leading training, which is not found in conventional undergraduate, PhD or postdoctoral programmes. It will therefore play a key role in securing future European competitiveness in this key area of fundamental science.
