Objective This project brings together a wide range of specialist approaches to tackle a basic research problem, the key feature of the project being the integration of several approaches that have never previously been combined in a comparable study. Accordingly, the network participants will be able to train young scientists to exploit the full range of modern behavioral, genetic and phylogenetic methods and to integrate these approaches. Their experience in different laboratories will give the trainees an opportunity to appreciate a range study techniques. Student exchanges totaling 180 person-months will enable us to share our ideas and research specialties with young researchers on a large scale.
