The aim is to develop a better understanding of the influence of welding machine characteristics on the weldability of coated steels in the multiweld or robotic situation. The interaction between mechanical and electrical characteristics of machines will be evaluated and factors influencing electrode life determined. Guidelines will be defined on the optimum design for multiwelders/robotic welders for welding coated steels.
