The role of centromeric chromatin in the activation of the spindle checkpoint

Objective

The objective of the proposal is the characterisation of the signalling defect that triggers the Spindle Checkpoint arrest in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The role of centromeric cohesion and the ternpo-spatial regulation of the spindle checkpoint response to damaged unattached kinetochores will be examined.
