European construction in service of society (ECO-SERVE)

Objectif

In the endeavour to achieve a long term trustworthy European pavement and concrete construction industry fulfilling the European environmental and societal goals for the coming generations, the ECO-SERVE project has the following specific objectives: Reduce the adverse environmental impact of the pavement and concrete construction industry on the external environment. Improve the working environment within this industry. Ensure European growth and wealth by increasing the productivity and competitiveness of the raw materials, production and the construction industry as well as enhancing the quality, durability and service life of pavements and concrete structures through sustainable developments. The specific objectives of ECO-SERVE will be met through initiation of a number of work packages; four WP's addressing technical issues and one addressing the issues of management, communication and exploitation of results. This WP will include tasks addressing technical aspects of changing concepts and processes, risk analysis modelling and reliability of long term planning in a fast changing society. In order to reach critical mass, the number and scope of the selected industrial segments have been restricted. This has led to the selection of that fragment of the construction sector, which is related to the most widespread commodities of the industry, i.e.cement.
