Miniaturization of cell based assays in a cd microlaboratory

Objectif

A post-doctoral young researcher is recruited to Gyros AB, in Uppsala, Sweden. Gyros is a young and rapidly growing biotechnology company building an innovative technology platform for the life sciences. The research atmosphere is highly multidisciplinary, combining excellent competencies in areas such as micro fluidics, surface chemistry, software engineering, mechanics and various biological and biochemical applications. A cell biology group has recently been formed within the company in order to develop cell-based assays in the nanoliter format. The group is now recruiting a highly talented and motivated scientist for a two year Marie Curie industry host fellowship. The candidate will develop assays, which will make it possible for the pharmaceutical industry to effectively use primary hepatocytes for cell based assays in a nanoliter scale. The assays will be integrated into compact discs (CDs) to screen for metabolism and toxicity during the drug discovery process. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. degree and scientific experience in cell biology or within another relevant research field. There is an age limit of 35 years, and the candidate should be a citizen of an EU member state (not Sweden) or of an associated state. Salary will be negotiated individually, but will not be below the levels stipulated by the Marie Curie fellowship scheme.
