Merging the Efforts: Russia in European Research Programs on Aeronautics (ILA)

Objective

Analyzing the tendencies of civil aviation developments for the next 15-20 years one can see that the main tasks to be solved when creating flight vehicles of the next generation are to make them more efficient, more environmentally friendly and safer. These challenges are declared the first priorities of all European and American aeronautical research programmes for the XXI century. Being a competent partner in the international scientific community Russia takes active part in solving these tasks. At present the leading research centers of Russia, which have most up-to-date achievements and a unique potential for aerospace vehicle creation, are involved in the development of European programs on ecology, efficiency and safety. Taking into account that these topics are the most urgent problems of the day the organizers have decided to bring them up at the conference "Merging the Efforts: Russia in European Research Programmes on Aeronautics". The first day of the conference will be devoted to the following issues of civil aviation development:- Ecology: decreasing noise and carbon dioxide emission, etc.- Efficiency: all factors enabling lower expenses on aircraft development, manufacture and operation- Safety: decreasing failure coefficient and human factor influence, etc. The second day is aimed at considerations of the present state of the Russian aeronautical science and latest reorganization of the European companies' structure in view of Europe and Russia integration. More clear understanding of these phenomena will enable successful realization of specific research projects within the framework of European programs. We believe that the conference will help to reveal main ecology, efficiency and safety problems in the area of aeronautical engineering and to find possible solutions so that Russia could be fully integrated in the international community.
