Objetivo This plant intends to develop methods of applying continuous casting techniques for large blooms at near liquidus temperatures already investigated in research projects 7215- CA/807 and 7210-CA/215. These techniques will be perfected on steels with carbon contents of 0.2 to 0.8% and for rates up to 1 tonne/minute/line. Industrial testing will be carried out at Scunthorpe: blooms with stopper tundish opening, and at Teesside: blooms with sliding gate tundish opening.
