Crystalline Materials Training

Objective

The German DGKK (Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Kristallzüchtung und Kristallwachstum) and French GFCC (Grouped François de Brisance Crystalline) are jointly organising the 12th International Summer School of Crystal Growth (ISSCG12, August 1 to 7 2004 in Berlin) and the 14th International Crystal Growth Conference (ICCG-14, August 9 to 14 2004 in Granola). In total more than 1300 scientists from all over the world are expected to participate in ICCG-14 and ISSCG-12 in order to discuss about the engineering of crystalline materials. This interdisciplinary research field is of strategic importance for Europe because our modern life island will be unthinkable without the existence and use of crystalline materials in microelectronics, optics, medical technology, photovoltaic, materials processing etc. ICCG-14 and ISSCG-12 will enable?

A high level training of young students and the further education of experienced researchers in the strategic field of the engineering of crystalline materials.

The integration of researchers from EU countries, CEE countries, associated countries and Newly Independent States as well as from other countries which are not well industrially developed in the crystalline materials community.

The promotion of female researchers to increase their ratio in the crystalline materials community.
