6th Symposium on Nonlinear Control Systems - NOLCOS 2004

Objective

Non-linear control systems have been developed to a core field in control engineering with an advanced mathematical theory and many applications that place high demands on quality, productivity, precision and robustness. The need of non-linear control methods is related to thenonlinear behaviour of most technical and non-technical dynamical systems and processes, which have to be described by non-linear mathematical models. Acknowledged as the major international gathering of leading experts, industrialists and academics in the field of Non-linear Control Systems NOLCOS 2004 aims at strengthening contact between academia, especially young researchers and industry to build up new networks and cultivate existing relations. The mutual exchange within the conference will make an important contribution to promoting the future co-operation between sciences and industry on an international level and therefore strengthen the European Research Area. High-level speakers will expose the global spectrum ofNonlinear Control Systems, state-of-the-art situation and development directions. European R&Dorganisations as well as industry will benefit and find fresh impulses for reflection and innovation in vital field of European Economy. The NOLCOS 2004 is meant as a forum for young scientists such as graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral students from all over Europe. They are given the opportunity to introduce their research ambitions and their scientific work to an international expert audience, to learn about state-of-the-art topics and to engage into discussions with highly renowned researchers from academic and industry. Furthermore a large number of elements are especially dedicated to young researchers. Physicists and engineers need more than a solid basis in science and engineering. Structural changes in industry and globalisation of our world need creative and responsible young researchers. Standard engineering education at universe#
