Ziel

This proposal has been developed by St John's Innovation Centre Ltd, Cambridge and the East of England Development Agency (EEDA). We propose to continue the operation of an Innovation Relay Centre for the East of England (EEIRC) based at, and hosted by St John's Innovation Centre (SJIC). SJIC will continue to act as the sole contractor but will deliver the IRC service on behalf of both the European Commission and EEDA. EEDA and the European Commission will be the main providers of financial support fo r the project. A core EEIRC team will continue to be based at the SJIC offices in Cambridge. Overall team numbers will be increased from 2 to 5 people (1.7FTE to 3.7FTE) to better meet the regional demand for EEIRC services. One of the new team will b e based in SJICs Cambridge office and will work closely with regional Universities & Research Institutes. The other two European Technology Advisors will be located in strategic centres outside of Cambridge to enhance our regional effectiveness. Thei r introduction will be staggered: one appointed April 2004; the second April 2005. EEIRC will work closely with the other IRC Network members. We will focus on SMEs. We will continue to maintain a high level of service capability and provide cost-effecti ve services that promote innovation and transnational technology transfer (TTT) partnerships involving regional clients (Companies, Universities & Research Institutes), and, inter alia, on transnational exploitation of Community RTD. Services will be delivered in synergy with regional/national support structures. We will provide information, advice and help on matters related to TTT partnerships, in accordance with the needs of regional clients. This will include inward technology transfer and tran snational innovation support schemes. EEIRC will continue to support the Central Unit's drive towards increasing network professionalism.
