The analysis of the fatigue life of welded stainless steels under different loading conditions and the influence of the sheet thickness will be used to derive design recommendations. Results of the fatigue tests in terms of specimen specific endurable loads and experimental determination of residual stresses will be used to compute endurable local stresses using Finite Element Analysis which can directly be used for design evaluation of spot welded components & structures produced from these materials.
