Objective This research is aimed at studying the factors which are important in the susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking of high strength weldable microalloyed steels. The steels considered are X60 and X70 with low carbon contents as well as higher carbon microalloyed steels which are used in the heat treated condition. Each steel will be considered under conditions contributing to SCC and the results will be applied to existing models of SCC behaviour.
