Objective The aim of this project is to investigate the various parameters involved on stannous tin adsorption for example pH, Sn2+ concentration, electrode potential etc., as well as the electrochemical reactions taking place on the iron electrode in de-aerated citric acid solution simulating fruit juice. The performance of tinplate in contact with slightly acidic food products will thus be modelled to study the reactions occurring and ways in which they might be inhibited.
