Objective This project will study the reheating of slabs destined for the hot strip mill, especially in terms of flow pattern prediction in the combustion chamber and local temperature variations close to the skids, furnace walls and burner ports. The project will relate these parameters to the control of the "delta-vee" at the strip mill. Results will be validated on mills at SIDMAR and ILVA.
