Objectif In the conventional steel-making route, large amounts of by-product gases are produced. By proper blending, preparation and reheating of these gases, it is possible to obtain a hot reducing gas suitable for bosh injection into the blast furnace and thereby save large amounts of solid fuel as well as to increase the furnace productivity, and as a result to reduce the total carbon introduced into the steel-making process and hence the amount of CO2 rejected into the atmosphere. It is proposed that trials be carried out on a pilot scale.
