Objectif The European Seminar on Advance Heterostructure Technologies and their impact on innovative business addresses the rapid development of heterojunction device technologies in advanced materials, their application in new field like biology and chances of new innovative companies emerging in this sector of high-tech industry. The seminar is given a specific title: "Electronic engineering: future prospects and opportunities in a changing field". It is aimed to give young researchers and PhD students an insight into future development in the field of semiconductor related electronic engineering and to provide them with information about taking up management responsibilities or even organising and running a small company in the field of high technology. The lectures will be given by a number of leading experts from research laboratories, small innovative companies and financial institutions supporting new business. In their talks the speakers will focus on the technology transfer and thus on the transfer of a new innovative idea from the academic university environment to an industrial realisation.
