Objectif At the light of the big success of the first three editions, the Genova Science Festival has become an annual event. In the second edition, the network ESCIENTIAL, granted by the EU Commission, significantly enhanced the European dimension of the Festival, with the contribution of qualified EU organizations. The new project ESCIENTIAL I.E. aims at further improve the European spin-off of this event, contributing to the "integration of science in society at a European level", with the following tasks andfeatures:- Expert and "apprentice" science "guides" coming from EU Museums. Science Centres and from the Science Festivals members of EUSCEA network will participate to a series of social-cultural events aimed at the launching of the European Academy for Science Explainers (EASE). The main initiative inside EASE will be the second edition of the International Workshop on Science Communication. During the Workshop EASE participants will contribute with their knowledge at the training phase of the guides of the Genova Science Festival (over 500), sharing experiences and discussing on how to communicate science and promote people's interest in science. - The consortium will bring in Genova, during the Science. Festival, exhibits and laboratories to enrich the programme of the Festival. It is fundamental to underline that ESCIENTIAL I.E. project involves now new EU member States, with the objective of sharing experiences and facing the intercultural differences and the different role of educational systems.- The project shares the same objective as ESCIENTIAL, but with a new strategy aimed at turning the events presented at the Festival into itinerant exhibitions. Thus the Genova Science Festival can be seen as a showcase to present, illustrate and test events, the most successful of which could become itinerant and could be brought to other EU Science Centres.
