Obiettivo The aim of Network UK is to remove the obstacles to mobility encountered by researchers and their families identified by the EC High Level Working Group,and so create a more favourable environment for transnational mobility and an improved research system across the European Research Area.Network UK recognises the need to address the HLG's priority interventions concerning return and career development,financial issues, admission to the country and access to employment,social security rights and fiscal issues,intellectual property rights,recruitment conditions and methods,family issues and gender. Network UK aims to complement and add value to the European researcher's mobility portal and the European network of mobility centres.It will build on available existing information and be a direct response to the researchers' needs, integrating information and advice at the regional level, the national level (UK) and the local level (proximity assistance).It will provide practical assistance to mobile researchers (incoming, outgoing, returning) by directing them to the appropriate specialised body and contacts in the UK and EU that are able and prepared to assist them. Network UK will establish a comprehensive, relevant and up-to-date source of information, support and assistance on all aspects involved in a research stay and make it available through a web gateway and helpdesk at the national level, and a network of mobility centres at a local level.By linking to the mobility centre network across the EU, it will provide integrated, transnational assistance to researchers.The national network of mobility centres will utilise the British Council's regional network's ability to offer information and assistance to students (the general barriers to mobility of students that also affect researchers).The capacity to provide assistance over obstacles that are particular to researchers will be built up over time through analysis of frequently asked questions.
