The proposed Accompanying Measure (exploratory workshop) to support the organisation of the Third European Conference on Research Infrastructures (first in Strasbourg, 2000, second in Trieste, 2003) aims at facilitating the circulation and maintenance of information that is relevant to policy makers and other stakeholders in view of FP7 (2007-2013) in the domain of research infrastructures. The conference will be organised timely with the UK Presidency of the European Union, which will be crucial for the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) for RTD. It will also be a key milestone for the co-ordinated approach to research infrastructures in Europe as developed by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI).
