Development of an integrated urban management tool

Objetivo

The proposed Marie-Curie Research Training Network (RTN) generally aims to develop tools to improve the energy management of large- scale urban projects. The common scope of the network research activities to establish is to establish an innovative intern et based online tool for planning, managing and operating urban quarters with low energy consumption and high renewable energy fraction in order to reduce up to 30% of state of the art quarters' CO2-emissions.

A major research focus of the network will be the integration of design and planning tools, operational control systems and monitored data into an intelligent energy management system, which will provide internet online monitoring, simulation and visualization using a Geographical Information System ( GIS) software as a front end. Citynet consists of eight university research groups from six different European member countries and Turkey as an associated candidate country and additionally involves eight commercial enterprises as well as community authorities as secondment hosts. The research is carried out in the fields of civil, mechanical and environmental engineering
