Objective

DaGoT's general aim is to focus on the state of the art of Dangerous Good Transport on DGT: verifying the validity of existent methodologies and technologies, evaluating future research needs with special reference to sustainable development and risk management.

DaGoT's objective is to stimulate EU co-operation on sustainable development and safety in DGT, by exchanging and integrating experience among public local authorities, transport companies, infrastructure owners, stakeholders, decision makers, researchers, providers of technology and training institutions.

The activities carried out will be: studies integration, analysis, benchmarking mapping and dissemination to produce a clearer definition of DGT flows and related management throughout EU.

The final results will be:
- European Reference Framework -ERF on DGT -Constitution of a DGT European Working Group EWG DaGoT will start from a specific territorial context
- inside Genoa/Rotterdam and Lisboa/Kiev Corridors- PACA and Liguria Regions, North and East Europe.

This territory represents a crucial case study from a sustainable development and risk-based context and it's strategic for EU transport policy due to presence of the TEN Corridors, Great Ports, motorways of the sea. A DGT-EWG representative will be identified as a multidisciplinary/multi-user contribute to the project specific of their territory.

Exploitation of the work will be pursued by organising three local workshops in different countries and one final conference in Genoa. Specific activities will precede each local workshop: dossiers implementation, approaches definition, stakeholders identifying.

Each workshop contributes to define and to enlarge DGT-EWG. The final conference will be preceded by a White Paper draft, based on the previous workshops. Final Conference will produce the DGT White Paper, the organisation of the DGT-EWG, its future actions and position with respect to emerging VII FP EU Platforms.
