A demonstrator was developed in a real environment, made up of a multipoint international audioconference system with visual and office system aids, interconnected using terrestrial and satellite links. The signal and protocol structure developed is applicable to a wide range of other audiovisual services, and has been adopted as part of the CEPT audiographic teleconference recommendation (T/N31-02). The conferencing system was successfully demonstrated in multipoint mode between 8 European locations in April 1988.
