Obiettivo In the course of Framework 5, the European Commission has undertaken the major projects MF-SOFC and IM-SOFC-GT to develop key technology for SOFC stacks and SOFC/GT hybrids respectively. This project aims to build further on these initiatives and extend MF-SOFC technology to operation on hydrocarbon fuels (principally natural gas) within pressurised hybrid configurations. Advances in stack and system modelling achieved in part within IM-SOFC-GT will underpin this work.
