Objetivo The proposed research will deliver solutions, how to conserve consistent blast furnace operation also in situations, when low cost raw materials, usually of lower quality, shall be used. Operational trials will explore ferrous fines and nut coke charging, correlated with coal injection rates. New online inspection methods will demonstrate changed material properties between charging and raceway.Scientific knowledge will proceed. Competitiveness for iron making will be increased. The research will contribute to the RFCS programme within the R&D area "Application of developed know-how and optimisation of the operating conditions in conventional routes" of the Strategic Research Agenda of ESTEP.
