Objectif In marine ecology there is an urgent need to understand the functioning of the lower part of the pelagic food web, its response to and effect on climate change, its response to pollution and environmental toxins, and its role in producing food for commercially important species at higher trophic level. This requires access for European scientists to tools allowing experimental approaches to near-natural pelagic systems. To meet this need, we propose a network (MESOAQUA) of European marine mesocosm facilities. MESOAQUA will: - Offer European researchers access to a range of mesocosm facilities in contrasting environments. - Develop and test new technologies that allow access to off-shore environments - Improve the services of the facilities by exchange of technology and experience - Facilitate cross-disciplinary fertilisation and a better coordination of mesocosm research - Promote the training of young scientists in the use of experimental ecosystem research MESOAQUA is necessary because: - System level experimentation is required to understand and predict the responses of the pelagic ecosystem in changing ocean subject to increasing anthropogenic pressure. - There is no present system for trans-national access to such experiemental facilities, particularly not to facilities offering access to different water masses - There is no present technology allowing mesocosm experiments in open waters Champ scientifique natural sciencesearth and related environmental sciencesenvironmental sciencespollutionnatural sciencesbiological sciencesecologyecosystemsnatural sciencesearth and related environmental scienceshydrologylimnologynatural sciencesearth and related environmental sciencesatmospheric sciencesclimatologyclimatic changes Mots‑clés marine ecosystems mesocosm pelagic food webs transnational access Programme(s) FP7-INFRASTRUCTURES - Specific Programme "Capacities": Research infrastructures Thème(s) INFRA-2008-1.1.1 - Bottom-up approach: Integrating Activities in all scientific and technological fields Appel à propositions FP7-INFRASTRUCTURES-2008-1 Voir d’autres projets de cet appel Régime de financement CP-CSA-Infra - Combination of CP and CSA Coordinateur UNIVERSITETET I BERGEN Contribution de l’UE € 910 699,54 Adresse MUSEPLASSEN 1 5020 Bergen Norvège Voir sur la carte Région Norge Vestlandet Vestland Type d’activité Higher or Secondary Education Establishments Contact administratif Liv-Grethe Gudmundsen (Ms.) Liens Contacter l’organisation Opens in new window Site web Opens in new window Coût total Aucune donnée Participants (5) Trier par ordre alphabétique Trier par contribution de l’UE Tout développer Tout réduire HELMHOLTZ-ZENTRUM FUR OZEANFORSCHUNG KIEL (GEOMAR) Allemagne Contribution de l’UE € 668 142,79 Adresse WISCHHOFSTRASSE 1-3 24148 Kiel Voir sur la carte Région Schleswig-Holstein Schleswig-Holstein Kiel, Kreisfreie Stadt Type d’activité Research Organisations Contact administratif Alexandra Drossou-Berendes (Dr.) Liens Contacter l’organisation Opens in new window Site web Opens in new window Coût total Aucune donnée CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE CNRS France Contribution de l’UE € 838 469,84 Adresse RUE MICHEL ANGE 3 75794 Paris Voir sur la carte Région Ile-de-France Ile-de-France Paris Type d’activité Research Organisations Contact administratif Ghislaine Gibello (Ms.) Liens Contacter l’organisation Opens in new window Site web Opens in new window Coût total Aucune donnée HELLENIC CENTRE FOR MARINE RESEARCH Grèce Contribution de l’UE € 498 954,80 Adresse LEOFOROS ATHENS SOUNIO 46 7KM 19013 Attikia Anavissos Voir sur la carte Région Αττική Aττική Ανατολική Αττική Type d’activité Research Organisations Contact administratif Stylianos Kastrinakis (Mr.) Liens Contacter l’organisation Opens in new window Site web Opens in new window Coût total Aucune donnée UMEA UNIVERSITET Suède Contribution de l’UE € 533 810,87 Adresse UNIVERSITETOMRADET 901 87 Umea Voir sur la carte Région Norra Sverige Övre Norrland Västerbottens län Type d’activité Higher or Secondary Education Establishments Contact administratif Ulf Båmstedt (Prof.) Liens Contacter l’organisation Opens in new window Site web Opens in new window Coût total Aucune donnée Kings Bay AS Norvège Contribution de l’UE € 49 922,16 Adresse n/a 9173 NY-AALESUND Voir sur la carte Type d’activité Private for-profit entities (excluding Higher or Secondary Education Establishments) Contact administratif Knut Erik Hansen (Mr.) Liens Contacter l’organisation Opens in new window Site web Opens in new window Coût total Aucune donnée
