Cel The objectives are to conduct a 1 week workshop in Lowestoft (England) with the participation of technicians and scientists from eight European nations to:1. compare statistically the performance of identifying mackerel and horse mackerel eggs in plankton samples2. compare the staging performance of the individual technicians and scientists with regard to the developmental stages of mackerel and horse mackerel eggs3. improve the identification and staging performance by teaching and repetition4. to demonstrate the improvement statistically5. to improve the assessment of mackerel and horse mackerel assessment6. additionally for those participants being involved in histological analysis of the gonad samples a 2 days-comparison of histological sections on atresia and fecundity shall be conducted directly after the egg staging workshop is finished.M Description of the work (maximum 2000 characters).
