Cel The PRISMA Project deals with the demonstration of the feasibility of an integrated predictive maintenance system on rotating machinery. A first important step aimed at defining and specifying additional instrumentation needed for correct monitoring of the machine has been carried out.Environmental analysis, has also been completed.Failure modes and reliability analysis, is near completion. A failure modes effects and criticity analysis has been performed on the compressor and lubrication oil system.To achieve this objective, a compressor supplied by THERMODYN, a subsidiary of FRAMATOME, is chosen as the demonstration equipment. Experience in reliability and predictive analysis, gained in the nuclear field, is to be applied to this piece of industrial equipment.
