Project description
Advanced solar technology to reduce urban pollution
As environmental concerns rise and emissions regulations tighten, reducing urban pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from traditional internal combustion vehicles has become urgent. The EU-funded HORIZER project will leverage advanced solar technology to enhance the sustainability of existing transportation infrastructures, with the goal of transforming Europe’s vehicle and energy markets. Over the next nine months, supported by the Women TechEU programme, the project will test an Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) business model that integrates solar solutions with conventional vehicles. By retrofitting these vehicles, the project aims to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, improve energy efficiency, and deliver substantial environmental, economic, and social benefits.
Objective
In Women TechEU, HORIZER aims, over the next 9 months, to continue its personal impact pathway journey of transforming the vehicle and energy market of Europe by focusing on testing and validation the business model, market research and engagement, and full utilization of the EIC growth-oriented services and mentorship.
