Final Report - NCAN (Neurophysiological correlates of the anatomically discrete organization of the auditory nerve)

Project ID: 221755
Funded under: FP7-PEOPLE

The NCAN project, which was funded under the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), aimed to introduce a new correlation analysis to enable the quantification of temporally locked responses of nerves to stochastic stimuli. The analysis was extensively used in the Auditory nerve (AN) and the cochlear nucleus and allowed for the study of temporal relationships between neurons.

This attachment to the project final report provides a three-dimensional representation of spatial profiles of the across-fibre neutral correlations. Moreover, the NCAN findings regarding these profiles are summarised. The document also highlights the importance of monaural neural delays in determining the width of spatial correlation.
