Final Report - IMPASSE (Environmental impacts of invasive alien species in aquaculture)

Project ID: 44142
Funded under: FP6-POLICIES

The insertions and translocations of fish due to aquaculture activities have significant impacts on ecosystems; however relevant guidelines and protocols are limited. It was therefore necessary to propose environmentally sound practices, formulate guidelines on species’ insertion and develop procedures to assess the potential impacts of non-native species.

The IMPASSE project, funded by the European Community, aimed to respond to the emerging needs associated to aquaculture and species’ introductions in order to assist the European authorities in the development of an adequate regulatory framework.

This final activity report summarises the project objectives and presents IMPASSE structure. The document also refers to the progress, methods and conclusions of the different work packages. Finally, the undertaken dissemination activities are summarised.
