This is the final report for the BNC TUBES project whose aim was to develop novel, continuous, chemical vapour deposition based synthesis for three-dimensional regular nanostructures in the form of heteroatomic Nanotubes (NTs) which consist of boron, nitrogen and carbon such as Boron nitride (BN), nitrogen (N)-doped carbon, boron (B)-doped carbon as well as mixed BNC nanotubes.

The report covers the main objectives of the project, then it proceeds with the synthesis of the heteroatomic single- and multi-walled carbon NTs as well as the employed techniques which have been used in order to characterise these nanostructures, the modelling of their properties, and afterwards it refers to their applications such as the development of a method for the production of NT thin films and their deposition on polymeric substrates or the fabrication of mats and finally, it concludes with a brief summary.
